About Amy
Amy & Her Passion For The Scots Tradition
Growing up in a musical home in Dunblane, Amy’s love for Scottish traditional music and song was forged from an early age. She studied Scottish Music, specialising in Scots song and language at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formally RSAMD) and in 2015 was a nominee for Scots singer of the year in the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.
Amy is a much sought after tutor based in the Central Belt of Scotland. She’s known not only for her depth of knowledge of Scots music and and songs but also for her enthusiastic fun approach to her teaching. She always ensures a comfortable learning space and experience, and is able to cater to a wide range of abilities to ensure her students get as much from her teaching as possible.
Amy's Work
After graduating she set up and continues to run award nominated, popular community singing group The Liltin Lassies, as well as becoming a regular and visiting tutor for many other singing groups and choirs across Scotland.
Amongst her other work and projects, she is the project designer and tutor of the successful YMI funded schools Scots Song and Language Project, she is Scots song lecturer in the junior dept of the RCS, works extensively with various health and recovery music and song groups and performs occasionally.
