Workshops & Tutoring

Amy is a regular and popular visiting tutor for several projects, choirs and song groups, as both a Scots song specialist and singing tutor.

Group Teaching

In addition to teaching the Liltin Lassies Amy currently regularly teaches and leads Angus Folk (Kirriemuir) The Wighton Singers (Dundee) and Blackford Sings (Blackford). She is a visiting tutor with other groups around Scotland and has led workshops and song days for groups and many companies including Hands up For Trad, Scotland Sings and Celtic Connections.

Amy delivers compelling and fun workshops and sessions across Scotland that help people connect with the rich history behind Scots songs.

Tutoring & Other Work

She is currently Scots song lecturer for the Junior Music programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she delights in teaching young Scots singers of the future, as well as leading song classes for other young traditional musicians on the course.

Amy has also had the great privilege of working with singing groups that promote singing for health and recovery. She has worked with groups of people that struggle with mental health issues, addiction and illness and has worked in partnership with Alzheimer Scotland, Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust and the Mungo Foundation.

Amy’s workshops and tutoring bring a variety of contexts to her teaching. As some of her most fulfilling work, she excels at tailoring her workshops and delivering her music in such a way that helps people connect even more with the rich culture behind Scots songs.
